I watched this documentary film about schooling the world this week and it made me really sad. It’s about how western education thinks it is so much better and more important than traditional education in developing countries. But these countries are now loosing their cultures and languages because of western education, which only really prepares children for urban work in large corporations, so then lots of people get lost and it is the reason for a lot of the poverty and slums. I also believe this is the case in our country. Our education system is designed to prepare children for a competitive urban corporation environment and this may only suit 10% of them, the others are lost in the system and end up doing jobs they don’t enjoy. It’s all about money and the economy and it really makes me sad.
Definitely worth a watch to open your eyes to the global western education agenda.
